DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY

Spanish night-life is well known for it's ability to start late and finish early - in the morning, that is! La Manga is no different. What nicer way to spend the evening than with friends, taking a drink or dining under the stars, with the moon reflecting from either one of our two seas? The visitor can choose from every possible type of bar or restaurant, and during the summer months people come from miles around to experience the night-life of La Manga.

Young and old are catered for. The young tend to head for Cabo de Palos, which changes from a sleepy fishing village by day to a bustling selection of "pubs" with music to suit all. The nearby commercial centre called "Las Dunas" also attracts it's aficionados.

Everyone, young or old, visits "El Zoco Alcazaba" with it's collection of shops, bars and restaurants at some time during their stay in La Manga. Things really come alive in the early hours of the morning and offer an incredible selection of bars and music for those with stamina and no need to be up early the next day.

Likewise, the area known as "the heart of La Manga", the Plaza Bohemia, has it's own "hippy market" which takes place every night during the summer, while in the pubs and bars which surround the Plaza, the youngsters rock the night away.

In "Puerto Bello", "Plaza Cavanna", "Galerias El Flamenco" and "Castillo de Mar" there is a distinctive foreign influence with British, German and Belgian bars in abundance. These offer the inevitable "darts" and "pool" plus a selection of imported beers to cater for the foreign visitor and those that are looking for something a little different.

For a more sedate form of pleasure, La Manga Club, en el Hotel Hyatt, also has it's own Casino and is operates all year round, offering all of the usual games - roulette, blackjack, bacarra - plus the inevitable slot machines.

There are also three open air cinemas offering different programmes each night, where young and old alike grab their popcorn and their own plastic chair to settle in for the nights entertainment. It should be said that the films are normally in Spanish which might make it difficult for the average tourist.

There really is something for everyone - cocktail bars, live-music, jazz, rock - the choice is fantastic. And, for those with the stamina, a trip to one of the "discos" will round off the evening.
